Projects
Our projects juxtapose classic and modern, cozy and fresh, new and old, luxurious and simple. We believe “the magic is in the mix.”
Farmington Nantucket Style Cape
An extensive renovation of this New York Times featured home included expanding the kitchen’s footprint, enhancing natural light, and making frequently used areas like the mudroom and laundry more functional.
We mixed patterns, materials, and styles to accomplish a timeless and collected vibe.
Berwyn Greek Revival
The Wharton House, circa 1830, sits outside Philadelphia. While the home presents as quaint on the outside, the center hall entry is flanked by the living room and dining room with tall ceilings and substantial millwork, which makes them feel slightly more formal.
Our goal in designing this home was to marry modesty and grandeur; quaintness and formality.
Dover Federal Style
Rethinking the function of each space on the first floor of this historical home allowed us to create spaces better suited to 21st century living. First, we convinced the homeowners to convert the sunroom at the far end of the home to the main family room because it is drenched in beautiful morning light. This transformation was awarded the 2023 A-List Award for best Traditional / Classic Living Space.
Moving along on the first floor, we gave new purpose to an awkward pass-through space, which now functions as a music room. Removing a wall between the formal dining room and kitchen allowed us to expand the kitchen's footprint to include an open butler's pantry and an 8-ft island perfect for entertaining.
West Hartford 1920’s Center Hall Colonial
This project started with decor and furnishings for the living room and sitting room and soon expanded to include a redesigned entry and dining room.
We also reconfigured a back hall and removed walls and closets to accommodate a walk-through butler’s pantry which sits off the dining room.
Simsbury Farmhouse (Coming Soon)
We designed every inch of this HOBI award-winning custom 8,000 sq. ft home during the height of the pandemic, from the built in cabinetry to the furnishings. The goal was to create a home that had character and loads of fun, without all the fussiness.
We don’t know what we love more — the loads of storage space or the basement golf simulator.
