New built-ins, a Frame TV, and calming blue and green tones, now lend themselves to a space the whole family uses on a daily basis.
Durability was key throughout for this young family. In the kitchen we used performance fabric on the chairs with wipeable faux leather seats.
We also created a little butler’s pantry for prep and extra storage with beautiful mosaic tile and metallic sconces.
Dover Federal Style
Rethinking the function of each space on the first floor of this historical home allowed us to create spaces better suited to 21st century living. First, we convinced the homeowners to convert the sunroom at the far end of the home to the main family room because it is drenched in beautiful morning light. This transformation was awarded the 2023 A-List Award for best Traditional / Classic Living Space.
Moving along on the first floor, we gave new purpose to an awkward pass-through space, which now functions as a music room. Removing a wall between the formal dining room and kitchen allowed us to expand the kitchen's footprint to include an open butler's pantry and an 8-ft island perfect for entertaining.
